Call for Abstracts

Registred attendees interested in presenting either an oral paper or a poster are invited to submit an abstract. The deadline for submission of abstract is March 30th, 2009. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the scientific committee. Acceptance/rejection of abstracts will be communicated to authors before May 1st, 2009.

Authors of accepted contributions presented at the Symposium will be expected to submit a complete manuscript for publication. Papers will be reviewed by two independent reviewers and accepted papers will be published in Acta Horticulturae by the International Society for Horticultural Science. All participants will recieve a copy of the Acta Horticulturae volume. The deadline for submission of full paper (only in English) is June 30th, 2009.

Instructions to Abstracts Authors

Language: English. French and Spanish are acceptable (but full paper must be in English). Text Body Length: Maximum 300 words (do not include table or graphs). Font & Type Size: Time New Roman, 12 point (excepted title, 14 point). Single line spacing. Justified alignment. Title: Capitalize first letter of each main word in title. Keywords: 4 to 5. Units: Metric system exclusively (L, ml, t...). Scientific Plant Names: In italic without any abbreviation (except for "var.", "subsp."...). Authors informations: Indicate all author's first name then family name. Provide each author's affiliation (unit and organization names, city, state/province, country). Precise the presenter's email address.

Abstracts in ".pdf" or ".doc" document file have to be sent to Anne-Hélène Marc, marc@bbv.fr. When sending your abstract, indicate the presenting author and specify your presentation preference (oral paper or poster).

 

Oral & Poster Presentations

Manuscripts

All oral and poster presentations are eligible for publication both in the Symposium Proceedings and in the Acta Horticulturae dedicated volume to the 7th International Symposium on Artichoke, Cardoon and their wild relatives.

All oral paper and poster presenters are requested to submit a manuscript (for oral paper 7 pages maximum, for poster 5 pages maximum). Invited papers must submit a manuscript (16 pages limit). Please follow the Acta Horticulturae authors guidelines: http://www.ishs.org/wri/pap1.htm. The deadline for submission of manuscript is June 30, 2009.

Instructions to Presenters

Oral presentation: Each presentation will be given 15 minutes (including 2 minutes for questions). Computer projection will be available. Upon arrival a computer will be at your disposal to transfer your presentation (saved on a CD-Rom or USB-key), review it and resolve any incompatibility isues. Oral presentations are usually in English . They can be in French or Spanish, but an English abstract should be presented (full paper must be in English). Poster presentation: Posters will be displayed during the entire Symposium (from June the 16 to the 19). However, there will be special posters sessions. The size of the posters must be within 90cm width X 120cm height. Upon arrival a desk service will be at your disposal for poster registration.
